The Truth About Flea & Tick Medicine

If you use flea "medicine" prescribed by your Veterinarian, or any store-bought once-a-month flea preventative, please pay attention. What I'm about to tell you could save your dog or cat's life.

Flea "medicine" is actually insecticide; And what's the first word that comes to mind when you hear the word insecticide? Poison. One of the more popular insecticide-based treatments on the market today is Comfortis (Spinosad). Yup, the same chemical available at Home Depot used to terminate bugs. If you don't believe me take a look at their product label.

The side effects listed are quite alarming "...vomiting, depression/lethargy, anorexia, ataxia, diarrhea, pruritus, trembling, hypersalivation and seizures." More from their label, "Phospholipidosis (vacuolation) of the lymphoid tissue was seen in all dogs treated with COMFORTIS, the long-term effects of which are unknown... Mortality and morbidity were greatest in puppies from the dam with the highest spinosyns level in milk... COMFORTIS was administered orally to adult Beagle dogs at average doses of up to 100 mg/kg once daily for 10 consecutive days (16.7 times the maximum recommended monthly dose).

These insecticides are tested on healthy dogs at 16.7 times the recommended dose! Imagine giving your dog 17 insecticide pills for ten days straight. It's sad that they're testing these drugs on helpless healthy dogs. Not to mention the fact that the long term effects are unknown!

I question the ethics of any Vet that prescribes my dog or cat insecticide. It's counterproductive to the reason they're there, which according to Webster is the "prevention, cure, or alleviation of disease and injury in animals and especially domestic animals."

I learned the truth about insecticides after doing thousands of diet consultations with pet owners. Pet parents would come in with dogs & cats suffering from ailments like itchy allergies, gastrointestinal issues, epilepsy, and even cancer. They'd be feeding healthy food like Orijen & Acana, healthy treats & supplements, but one thing remained the same - they were also using flea & tick "medicine" prescribed by their Vet.

It took several months for me to make the link, but when I did finally make the connection I was shocked. I couldn't believe that this was even legal, not to mention how unethical insecticide treatment actually is. At that point I decided insecticide awareness would be my primary topic at Local Pet Market.

It's important to note that Comfortis, Trifexis, Nexgard, Advantix, Revolution, Bravecto, Frontline, and most other flea "medicines" are also insecticide. If you're looking for an effective healthy flea & tick preventative try Flea Away. This product is actually a Vitamin B supplement, that works by deterring fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes (which carry heart-worm).

We are here to educate and inform our global pet community. By spreading this information, pet parents are able to make informed decisions for their furry families. Together we are the voice for millions of dogs & cats begging for change. Together, we are the Pet Revolution.

What is flea away. Is it topical. Or is it taken orally. Never heard this information b4. Does it actually work and how often is it given… where can I find it. No vets has ever recommended it. Because my dogs Can’t talk to me, this is a concern to me. What is the cost?
Thanks
